At the instance of the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, special rates 'have been accorded to delegates attending the meetings of the Central Farmers' institute and Good Rflads Association, at Victoria, on December 17, aud follgwlng dSVo, ? l! 3 follows;

By the EsQuimnlt Nanaimo Rail way Company, a single fare for round trip. Regular fare to be paid to Victoria, and a receipt taken, such receipt to be Certified by the superintendent of l in*tltuter or secretary, and on presentaii&n at of lico in Victoria, a free return ticket will be given.

By the Canadian Pncific Railway Company, a faro and a third, provided that not less than fifteen come by that route. Delegates to pay full fare to Vancouver, taking a standard certificate receipt from the agent, receipts to be revised by the superintendent of instl tutefi or "secretary, nnd on presentation at ofilce in Vancouver within two days of clout? of convention, the delegates will be returned at one-third fare.

By the Canadian Pacific Navigation, Company, a single fare for the round trip, certificates to be obtained from the, •superinto'fident or secretary.

FELL FROM WINDOW.

Horace ,T. Hnyden, a Prominent New York Railway Man Killed.

New York, Dec. 7.—Horace J. Hay-den, vice-president of the' New York Central & Hudson River Railway Company, was instantly killed to-day nt his home nt :W7 West 7Gth street. The first his i'amiiy knew of the accident was when two servants found the body of Mr. Hnyden lying in the yard. A windo',% in the fourth story was open, and it is not known whether Mr, Hay-den jumped or fell out of the window. As soon as the body was found it was carried into the house nnd a messenger despatched for Walter Jones. On his arrival Dr. Jones pronounced Mr, Hay-den dead. It was also learned that the 'deceased-was-a sufferer from nervousness nnd heart disease. Detectives were seirt out to make an investigation.

It was said that Mr. Hayden wns subject to attacks of shortness of breath, •and it is supposed ho had been seized with one or these attacks and had opeue'd the window to get fresh air. When picked up he was fully dressed, and the body wns yet wnrm.
